Obituary of Maria Maffettone

Maria (Peluso) Maffettone, age 79, of Peekskill, Montrose, and Palma Campania, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, April 15, 2024.

Maria was born in Palma Campania, Italy on September 16, 1944, to Raffaele and Anna.

She and Nunzio married and came to the US in 1972 where she worked for several years as a proprietor of Nunzio’s Tailor & Cleaning.

Maria loved to cook and lived for her family. She and her children have fond memories of traveling and spending time with family in Italy.

She is survived by her adoring husband Nunzio Maffettone, her sons Biagio (Sara-Jeanine) and Raffaele; and loving Nonna (grandmother) of Nunzio, Maximo, Adira, Alessandra, and Gabriella.

She is also survived by her three sisters Francesca, Felicia, and Angela.

Maria is pre-deceased by her brother Sabato.

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 920 1st Street, Peekskill, NY on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:30 am.

Interment to follow at  Assumption Cemetery.
